The Handsome boy does not appear to understand that momma is pregnant. At least, you wouldn’t know it by the way he likes to try to plop on my stomach when I’m sitting or lying on the couch.
However, in some quiet moments when we are on the couch together, the Handsome boy will reach over and just rub my belly.
I really don’t think he understands, yet somehow I think he knows. I’m not sure if that makes any kind of sense at all.
Well, in another moment of cuddles on the couch, the cat was curled up on my belly, and Handsome decided he needed cuddles, too. With perfect clarity, the boy starts calling the cat by his name and showing affection to the cat in the best way he knows how–by annoying him. 🙂
We shall see how the next few months unfold. I’m almost to the end of the first trimester, and finally starting to feel somewhat human and normal again. The intense fatigue seems to be easing up, some first trimester aches seem to be dissipating, and the food cravings just ravage on (hello, grilled red meat, yes, I love you).
I hope to be back soon with more to share about Handsome’s homeschool adventures and language.
Thanks for stopping by!
